Cattle

Our farm overlooks the beautiful rolling hills we call home.

Grass is the number one ingredient on the farm. Without it nothing would thrive!

The farm is almost a maze of electric fence (hard to see on the photo though)! However, these fences simplify the moves of the cattle.

Manure is an excellent source of natural fertilizer. It is naturally spread throughout the pasture since we move them so frequently.

Because we have so many paddocks, water is always an issue. We have water piped throughout the farm.

The many water containers are always a favorite resting spot for the cattle.

We started into cattle with bottle fed Jersey bull calves.

Bottle feeding and daily interaction.

You can see how tame and friendly they can be.

Sometimes TOO friendly!

This is one of our Hereford heifers. We expect our first calves late this year. Yeah! No more bottles!

Cattle do most of their grazing in the morning and evening.

They spend their afternoons 'chewing their cud'.

Cattle are always curious!

They will always stop grazing to say 'hello'!

They sure are beautiful!
